{| Balthazar |}
But remember I am human and I'm bound to sing this song
Alias: Erik Ross
age/dob: Claims he's 23, looks younger, in fact can't remember how old he is
affiliation: Evil (demon)
sexual orientation: Pansexual (doesn't even have to be human)
occupation: Crossroads Demon / Hot Topic cashier
There are many legends surrounding crossroads, demons, and humans' souls. Stories about humans selling their souls to the devil to get ahead in life, for the bargain of spending eternity in hell after death have permeated society since the beginning of time. The story of Robert Johnson is a well known urban legend.
It's said that if you put a photo of yourself, some graveyard dirt, a black cat bone, and yarrow in a box and bury it where two roads cross, you can summon a demon who will make you a deal. A deal to bring you power, talent, love, whatever your heart desires, for the price of your right to rest in peace. You may meet a man, a woman, or even a teenage boy, but they all hold the same power to give you anything you ever wanted.

{| personality. |}
Vain and manipulative, Balthazar enjoys talking about himself, and thinks he's the best demon working for his boss. His record is spotless; there's not a payment he has failed to take or a contract left unfulfilled. He is egotistical to the point of irritating some people he meets. If given the chance, he will talk your ear off, whether he's talking about himself, complaining about the politics in Hell, or the story of the latest soul he acquired for his boss.
He especially likes to prey on weak willed teenagers. The girls just want a boyfriend, the boys want to better than their friends, all of them are so naïve and petty. It's easy, and Balthazar knows these deals won't bring his customers happiness in the long run. Those are the best kinds, he thinks, because they don't fight when he comes back to collect his dues.
pet peeves: Angsty teenagers (they don't know real pain), high powered businessmen, lawyers (Hell's got a lot of them and everyone still hates them)
favorites: Batman comics/movies, beer, cigarettes, coffee (humans sure know how to kill themselves slowly), attention

{| appearance. |}
To humans who summon him, Balthazar appears as a young man, standing 6'2" with pale skin, long, wild black hair, and icy blue eyes, with black markings on his face, chest, and arms. He enjoys the shock value of dressing in tight leather pants, with a leather vest or jacket. On a normal day, however, when he's on earth, Balthazar looks far tamer. Appearing more like a boy, with artfully tousled dark hair, an innocent face, his pouty lower lip adorned with two liprings, and a wardrobe of black skinny jeans and classic metal band tshirts.

{| history. |}
Born human, it is said he was so beautiful to look at that women loved him from the moment they laid eyes on him. He is described as having hair the colour of raven feathers and eyes the colour of ice. Another version has it that his eyes are so black they look like bottomless pits. All versions agree though that he was pale skinned and that his face was sculptured.
Balthazar was turned into a vampire at the age of seventeen. He lived about a hundred years with his maker, until he met a human girl and fell in love. However, his maker did not approve of the relationship. Balthazar rebelled and disobeyed his maker after he was forbidden from seeing the girl. In retaliation, his maker killed the human. Balthazar, in a fit of rage spurred from his grief, turned on his maker and overpowered him, killing the older vampire. When the dust had settled, he found himself alone, an infant, inexperienced vampire, and the girl he'd loved was dead. Driven mad by grief and regret for the loss of both his lover and his maker, Balthazar went to hell to the demon king Crowley and asked to be killed so he may no longer suffer the pain of loss. Demons don’t tend to have sympathy. So instead of doing what Balthazar asked, the Demon king turned him into a Demon.
Reborn in the fires of hell, Balthazar became a demon of death omens and the crossroads. He travels with a raven, and a hellhound. When a human summons the devil at the crossroads, Balthazar is the demon who appears with a contract, which he takes back to his king in hell. Ten years later, he returns to the human to collect the payment; this is why ravens and hellhounds are believed to be harbingers of death.
Although he was a vampire when he was turned into a demon, his human heritage means he is weak to other demons that were never human. He is bound to Crowley because of his human soul. As such, humans cannot control him by the use of his true name, because it is no longer his. His true name belongs to Crowley, because he didn't have a soul to give the demon king. The name Balthazar was given to him when he became a demon, and it is the name humans invoke when calling on the crossroads demon when they want to make a deal with the devil.
Balthazar has been drawn to New Orleans by the dark activity, and its reputation for parties and debauchery. He's a party animal, if there ever was one. He keeps a human job as part of his disguise, and has developed a love-hate relationship with his current occupation. He does meet a lot of easy targets, but at the same time he's aggravated daily by the mall Goths and punks. They don't know real badassery. On the other hand, he does have a lot of teenage fans who hang off his every word, and that's something he definitely enjoys.
